Bambinelli Blessing
The Blessing of the Bambinelli (Baby Jesus) is a tradition which began in Rome. Each year on the Third Sunday of Advent we invite families to bring the Baby Jesus from their family Nativity scene to Mass for a blessing. After the blessing, the families are invited to wrap up their baby Jesus and place him under their Christmas Tree. On Christmas morning the Bambinelli is the first gift to be unwrapped and placed in the family crib. This helps families to place Jesus at the heart of their Christmas celebrations.
